What do did we do this time?

Bruce tucked the blanket gently around Bucky's little body and sighed. He couldn't believe that someone who used to be an assassin could be full of so much energy. And for some weird reason Bucky had taken a shine to Bruce after the accident. When he wasn't cuddling  and playing with Steve he was hanging on Bruce like a monkey. It had only been a day and he was already worn out and ready for one of his world famous Hulk like naps. "Clint," he whispers, "is Steve ready,. Bucky won't stay asleep long without him."

Lucky trots over and licks Steve's foot, making the three year old giggle. "Silly Lucky... feets are gross." Steve says wiggling his toes at the dog.

"Does he have an ouchie?" Bucky asks blinking talking about Lucky's missing eye, and the missing chunk of ear. Bucky then shoves probably whats too much pancake into his mouth hungrily like he might not get food later.

Clint brings the short stack of pancakes over to Bruce, side of bacon and a side of fruit. He sits down with his own plate, and like always covers his pancakes in too much syrup.

Bruce nodded. "Lucky is a hero dog and got hurt being a hero," He explains gently as he slips the happy puppy some of his bacon. "Slow down Bucky, you don't need to race to eat. There is plenty of food for you if you want more."

Bucky looks at Bruce sheepishly mouth full like a squirrel and it makes Clint laughs softly he flops down to tuck into his own plate handing Lucky a strip of bacon.

Bucky swallows and takes a smaller bite, watching Steve carefully as he eats as well.

"Yeah we got plenty, I made too much batter so if you want more just ask..." He grins a little. "Maybe we can go to the park after breakfast..." He says taking a long sip from a large coffee mug. "The one that allows dogs." He laughs with Lucky starts dancing around because of the bacon and the word park.

"Not gonna lie babe, not how I pictured us doing the dad thing..." He smiles across the table.

"How can someone have two daddies?" Steve asks blinking at Bucky who just shrugs and puts some of his food on Stevies plate because the blond never got enough, if you asked him. Steve slides it back on to the other three year olds plate.

"Me either," Bruce says and lowers his voice so only Clint can hear since he has no desire to give either Steve or Bucky fuel for the ribbing fire when they are adult size again. "I've never pictured doing the dad thing at all, still it will be nice to have Steve and Bucky back to full size soon." He leans back up and smiles at Steve's question. "Well....sometimes moms and dads can't take care of kids and there are people like Clint and me who can so we adopt those kids and become daddies."

"But you're not together like a mommy and daddy..." Steve blinks eating more of his breakfast.

"That's not allowed... or that's what the guy down the street always yells at those two guys who live together, the said he was gonna call the cops on 'em for bein' queer." Bucky says poking at his plate.

"I tried to ask the penguins what it meant, but they said that wasn't an allowed asking thing." He says eating a little more then rubbing his tummy.

"Well," Bruce said wanting to be careful how he phrased things. "Clint and I are together in the way we want to be. We don't really care what other people think of us. We care about each other and that's all that matters."

"But coppers arrest people for that..." Bucky blinks shoving more waffle into his mouth more curious then anything else.

"It's not bad...?" Steve asks picking up waffle with his fingers and eating.

"Nope, here you can love who ever you want too." Clint smiles soft and warm at the boys.

"You guys wanna go play at the park?" Clint asks the two little boys.

Steve has stuffed the waffle in his mouth and nodded hard enough to almost spray crumbs. Bruce calmly hands him a napkin and helps him wipe his mouth. "Swallow then talk,' he says gently, "remember it's okay to use your words and slow down."

Clint laughs and puts a little more bacon on everyones plate. He comes over and kisses Bruce on the cheek, "I'm a go get some clothes out for them... so we can head to the park."

"Okay I'll send them into you in a bit, then I'm gonna clean up in the kitchen," he mutters with a smile. He then turns back to the boys and gently encourages them to finish up.

Clint straightens up the room and makes the bed, and gets some play clothes out for the boys, and gets dressed himself.

This is not how he thought that he and Bruce would start a family, he pictured going through adopting with the doctor. But as weird as it was this was a good test run.

"Are we gonna live here, until we are grow'd up?" Bucky asks licking the syrup off his plate smiling at Bruce. The little boy doesn't want to go back to the home.

Bruce doesn't answer right away, but once he does it's with a gentle smile. "I think so," he says carefully not wanting to make any promises. "You might be growing up faster then you'd think."

Bucky smiles a little and runs off to find Clint, Clint gets the boys dressed and bundled for going to the park to play. Giving Bruce a soft smile.

"Stop being so grim, babe... they'll be back to normal soon... and hey it's proving we can do this... kind of." He smiles a little kissing the tip of Bruce's nose. "What's bothering you?"

Bruce smiles slightly. "I didn't realize how bad things were for them as kids. Steve doesn't talk about it and Bucky we are just getting to know. It reminds me of the hell I went thought and I can't help wanting to fix it for them even though I know I can't."

"Things weren't that bad... the sisters took good care of them... they talk about them nicely...." Clint says pulling on his jacket and scarf after pulling his boots on.

"Can we build a snowman at the park?" Bucky asks smiling at Bruce.

Bruce stops putting his gloves on and drops to one knee in front of Bucky. "Of course we can. This is perfect snowman weather." He dropped his voice to a stage whisper. "Maybe we can even have a snowball fight."

"Yessssssss." Little Bucky cheers, and wraps his arms around Bruce's neck, starting to warm up to the idea of them staying here.

Clint smiles and thinks yeah there is a conversation they need to have once Steve and Bucky are back to normal.

Clint helps Steve with the zipper on his jacket, and makes sure his hat is down far enough.

They have fun at the park, and grab lunch and by the time they get back to the apartment, but boys are red cheeked and falling asleep.

Clint gets them into sweat pants and tucked in for a nap.

"Well that was an adventure."

Bruce is making tea for himself and coffee for Clint in the kitchen and smiling softly. "They certainly have more energy then I expected," he muttered, "and Steve is more the troublemaker then I thought too."

"Well I believed Bucky about all of that." He snorts grinning at Bruce a little. He comes into the kitchen and smiles at Bruce as the pulls down honey for Bruce and the sugar for himself.

"It's got me thinking a little bit..." He says doctoring up his coffee, with just a little sugar.

Bruce takes the honey and starts doctoring his own drink as he talks. "What about," he asks.

"About us, maybe doing it for real, I mean I know I'm not always serious, and I kind of get hurt a lot." He says rolling the coffee mug in his hand. "You'd be a good dad though." He looks up giving Bruce a warm smile.

"I've been thinking about that too," Bruce mutters with a slight blush, "I know I can't with a woman but adopting. We could help a kid or two who grew up like we did."

"Just what I was thinking..." He says sitting on the counter and taking a sip from his mug. "I mean you said Steve and Buck would be back to normal in a couple days, but maybe this is a sign or some shit." He smiles a little from behind his mug.

Bruce chuckles and sips his tea. "I think it is and I don't really believe in such things," he replies, "I mean we could become foster parents first. See if it works out."

"You don't believe in fate or signs?" Clint asks taking a sip from his mug. "You say you don't, but I think you do secretly." He teases softly a warm affection filled smile on his face.

"Yeah that sounds like a good plan." He nods. "We actually gonna do this." He says happily and nervous.
