What do did we do this time?

Bruce tucked the blanket gently around Bucky's little body and sighed. He couldn't believe that someone who used to be an assassin could be full of so much energy. And for some weird reason Bucky had taken a shine to Bruce after the accident. When he wasn't cuddling  and playing with Steve he was hanging on Bruce like a monkey. It had only been a day and he was already worn out and ready for one of his world famous Hulk like naps. "Clint," he whispers, "is Steve ready,. Bucky won't stay asleep long without him."

"Yessssssss." Little Bucky cheers, and wraps his arms around Bruce's neck, starting to warm up to the idea of them staying here.

Clint smiles and thinks yeah there is a conversation they need to have once Steve and Bucky are back to normal.

Clint helps Steve with the zipper on his jacket, and makes sure his hat is down far enough.

They have fun at the park, and grab lunch and by the time they get back to the apartment, but boys are red cheeked and falling asleep.

Clint gets them into sweat pants and tucked in for a nap.

"Well that was an adventure."

Bruce is making tea for himself and coffee for Clint in the kitchen and smiling softly. "They certainly have more energy then I expected," he muttered, "and Steve is more the troublemaker then I thought too."

"Well I believed Bucky about all of that." He snorts grinning at Bruce a little. He comes into the kitchen and smiles at Bruce as the pulls down honey for Bruce and the sugar for himself.

"It's got me thinking a little bit..." He says doctoring up his coffee, with just a little sugar.

Bruce takes the honey and starts doctoring his own drink as he talks. "What about," he asks.

"About us, maybe doing it for real, I mean I know I'm not always serious, and I kind of get hurt a lot." He says rolling the coffee mug in his hand. "You'd be a good dad though." He looks up giving Bruce a warm smile.

"I've been thinking about that too," Bruce mutters with a slight blush, "I know I can't with a woman but adopting. We could help a kid or two who grew up like we did."

"Just what I was thinking..." He says sitting on the counter and taking a sip from his mug. "I mean you said Steve and Buck would be back to normal in a couple days, but maybe this is a sign or some shit." He smiles a little from behind his mug.

Bruce chuckles and sips his tea. "I think it is and I don't really believe in such things," he replies, "I mean we could become foster parents first. See if it works out."

"You don't believe in fate or signs?" Clint asks taking a sip from his mug. "You say you don't, but I think you do secretly." He teases softly a warm affection filled smile on his face.

"Yeah that sounds like a good plan." He nods. "We actually gonna do this." He says happily and nervous.

Bruce smiles. "Yeah we are," he says with another sip of tea, "and I would never admit to believing in things that can't be proven. But I might still believe in them."

"Who do we even call to get the ball rolling?" Clint asks taking another sip from his mug. "We wouldn't be together without fate." He chuckles softly.

"Department of Children and Family Services would be my best guess," Bruce muses, "we might get more under the microscope then most, but I think it might start a trend."

"Welp... wonder if SHIELD did a good enough job of making my record go away..." He says a little nervously. But he's still smiling at Bruce as he sets his mug aside and uses his legs to pull the man close and give him a soft kiss. "It'll be fine they'll love me." He laughs a little nuzzling into Bruce's neck.

"I'm sure it will go fine." Bruce rumbled kissing Clint back. happily. "we are who we are and we don't have to change that."

Clint nods and smiles warm and easy at Bruce setting his mug aside.

It's a long two weeks but it's a good test run, and well maybe Clint misses little Steve and little Bucky when they are back to normal. But at least he has teasing fodder for years to come.

He moves easily into the little office they have set up for Bruce in their brownstone and looks at him.

"The paperwork showed up..." He says holding a packet in one hand and a mug in the other.

Bruce is actually bothered by the quiet in the house once Steve and Bucky are gone, so when he hears Clint talking he grins and looks over. "Really," he excitedly asked.

"Yep." Clint smiles coming in ad setting the packet and the mug down on Bruce's desk. "A lot of stuff to fill out, but once we get this to them.. the kid ball will be rolling." He licks his lips a little. "You know if I pass the background check." He says nervously.

Bruce sips from the mug and smiles. "You'll be fine Clint, Phil promised both of us that while they aren't going to hide anything things would be fine."

"Bruce..." He says shaking his head but he smiles and drags the chair next to Bruce and starts going through the thick packet they need to fill out.

"Uhhh what do I put under profession... I mean you can put scientific researcher... I can't really put classified..." He snorts.

"Don't you own an apartment building," Bruce asks, "why not put landlord?"

"I don't actually charge anyone rent?" He laughs softly shaking his head. "Hmm sign language interpreter?" He suggests, "It's not a lie, the community center would back me up." He says licking his lips. "Even though it's only two days a week."

"Doesn't matter you still own the place, do both," Bruce says, "I have a feeling both will be a plus in our column,"

Clint laughs a little and shrugs but fills out that section with both.

"I'm still nervous as fuck about this babe." He says looking over other places for signatures and other information. "My records are sealed pretty tight thanks to SHIELD but uh someone could probably find them." He says worriedly, pushing a hand through his blond locks.

"I'm scared too Clint," Bruce admits, "My record isn't as clean and there is my father to consider.' He takes a deep breath. "But I want this...with you."

"I want it with you too, babe." He smiles giving the doctor a quick peck on the cheek. "Bruce having an abusive father and being an assassin for hire are kind of different in the eyes of CPS..." He snorts joking slightly.

They finish filling out the paper work and send it off with one of the Stark lawyers Clint was still kind of iffy on Shellhead after everything they'd been through. But it seemed the man was trying to make up for everything that had happened.
