Natasha got back to the tower after a long, difficult mission. She was bruised, and sore. The only thing she wanted to do was take a shower, and curl up and sleep for a month. The shower was a must, and some clean clothes.

She of course raided Bruce's closet, and she carefully took a shower, and made her way down to his lab first aid kit in hand. She wasn't sure if her head needed stitches. She heard Bruce humming, and she leaned against the door jam. She was wearing his shirt, and a pair of loose fitting pants, and of course no shoes.

"Hiya Doc," She said quietly. "Happy Birthday."

Bruce turned towards the sound of Natasha's voice beaming. "Nat," he says brightly, "I wasn't expecting you...back for a few more days." He walks towards her already doing a full body once over. "Everything go okay?"

She held up the first aid kit. "Could have gone better," She said ruefully. "They wanted to stitch me up but you know how much I hate needles," she shuddered a little at the thought.

"Could you do it for me? Please?"

Bruce nodded and waved at his stool. "Sit down and I'll sew you up," he says gently, "it's one of the many reasons I think you love me anyway."

Natasha moved slowly over to the stool. There were some days, like today, that she wished she could heal like Steve. It would cause less stress for everyone involved.

She looked up at him, and smiled. "There were a lot of reasons why, and your sewing skills didn't even come into play."

Bruce was the unexpected thing that she never thought she would get. "So what are your Birthday plans?"

Bruce threads the needle and soaks a pad in alcohol. "Lean forward," he says, "and for the record I don't have plans for my birthday. I don't really do the whole birthday thing."

Nat does as he asked, wincing slightly at the added pressure. She made sure that her hair was out of the way. She should have done better.... but she didn't and now she is paying the price.

Luckily for her, its her boyfriend and not Tony who would stand there calling her a wuss.

She really hated needles.

"Why not?" She asked softly.

Well...I didn't really get to celebrate as a kid either," Bruce says as he wipes the pad over the cut to clean it and then starts stitching it as gently as he can. "My family wasn't big on the Kodak moments.

"Don't worry, I didn't either," Nat said softly, her eyes still closed.

She winced and tried to pull back before stopping herself. "Sorry," She whispered..

"We could make our own memories?"

"Don't be, it's okay to be hurt," Bruce says stroking her arm with his free hand, "I'm not gonna tell. And for the record I'd love to make some new memories with you. Have a good birthday for once."

She hummed, and may have leaned into his touch, but he was everything that was good in the world, and after the mission she just had, Nat needed that.

"Would you mind not going out? I would love to have you all to myself."

"You are asking the king of the introverts if we can stay in," Bruce joked as he worked, "twist my arm some more why don't you?"

"No I am asking the King of introverts satay here with me, there is a difference.

Nat laughed a little a his joke as she looked up at him through her reaction is going to be hell.

"Okay. Almost done?"

"Done," Bruce says stepping back and looking over Natasha's face. "How does it feel?"

Nat took a moment and turned her head the side, making sure that she wan't going to get dizzy.

"Feels good, just like I knew it would," She replied. "How is it that you are the only one that can get me to sit still long enough?"

She places a kiss to his cheek as he stood up. "Are you ready to celebrate in style?"

"Must be my charm and good looks," Bruce jokes as he cleans up his supplies and throws away the needle making sure nothing is left behind to get them into trouble later. He then stood up and smiled. "Let's do it," he says, "pizza and a movie, Tony got some new DVD's in."

She looped her arm through his as they walked.She swayed a bit and leaned into him. "Whatever you want. Pizza? Really? We aren't watching pornographic are we?"

Bruce laughs. "No I checked, no porn in any of the cases. He learned his lesson after Steve reminded him that he may have been from the forties but he'd seen skin before. Watching Tony blush after that dirty joke was the best thing ever."

Natasha laughed softly, as she grabbed his hand. "I think I actually would have paid to see that," She said, nodding her head.

"Hope you don't mind but I borrowed some clothes?" She said, as she pulled him into a kiss. "Happy Birthday," She whispered. "Are we actually going to watch the movie?" She asked with a small smile.

He glances over her and shakes his head. "Not at all, those actually look better on you then they do on me and that's saying something." He doesn't get to finish his through because she is kissing him then and he kisses back his reaction still shy and uncertain. "Is not watching the movie a good idea," he asks softly, "you just got back and....."

Natasha pulls back slightly, and lays a finger over his lips. "Stop," She said softly. "A movie is perfect. Maybe I just like kissing you," She said, with a smile.

"Just assume that anything you want to do is fine, unless I say otherwise okay?"

Bruce nods. "That sounds like a plan," he says wrapping an arm around her, "if you're a good girl I might even raid Tony's stash for that vodka I know you like.'

"ooooh," Nat said, as she leaned into Bruce. "And what did I ever do to deserve you?" She asked softly, as she leaned up and kissed his cheek.

"You're you," Bruce says nuzzling her neck a bit, "and for some crazy reason you stuck with me."

She smiled as she leaned into him. She wanted nothing more than to lose herself in Bruce for a little while, or forever she wasn't picky.
