Bruce hadn't expected to find anything in the post office box when he checked it. It was a force of habit really to just stop by at least once a month and see if Tony or any of the other Avengers had sent him anything.  He'd be lying to himself if he didn't sometimes hope to hear from Natasha. The fall of SHIELD had terrified him, not just for his sake but for hers as well. He'd thought of trying to find her, but he wasn't sure how welcome he would be given he hadn't spoken to her since their intimate night just post the Battle of New York. It was his fondest memory and one that had seen him through many lonely nights as he ran from country to country trying to find a safe place.

So when he opened the box and found the envelope inside he assumed it was Tony checking up on him or passing on something from one of the others. He opened it and pulled out photos....ultrasound photos.  He stared for a long time, not sure he was seeing what he thought he was. His eyes filled with tears when he pulled out a sheet of paper in Natasha's even writing that confessed the truth and included coordinates. "I love you, I miss you," was written on the bottom.

There was no question what his next move would be. He packed what little he'd managed to accumulate in his bag and plugged the coordinates into his Stark phone. He found the house easily and stood on the porch suddenly nervous. Did she really want him here, what if she'd changed her mind  He tapped a soft few notes on the door and waits heart in his throat. What if he's missed the chance to walk this journey with her and the baby was already born. This might be his only chance to walk the path of fatherhood and he didn't want to miss a second of it.

Natasha sees the truth in both his eyes and his words, and she leaned up and she kissed him softly, her fingers winding in his hair. "I was so scared you wouldn't come.... that I would have to do this alone. Being the Widow I can do, but this...." She said gesturing her stomach. "Scares the shit out of me...."

"I thought I was sterile Doc... they don't exactly condone procreation in the Red Room," She said, grabbing his hand and leading him into the kitchen. "Rae. She lives her, and takes care of me and the little spider. Also makes the best Banana cream pie ever."

"She's the best there is," She said with a smile as she tucked herself against him,the best she could given her size leading him into the kitchen.

"Mama, this is Bruce. Spider's father and the best man I know," She said as she sat down, a hand on her stomache.

"I'm starved."

Rachel looked appraisingly at Bruce, before smiling slightly, serving up two generous pieces of pie and two glasses of milk.

"Are there any dietary issues I need to worry about for you two?" She asked, waving her hand as Natasha choked on her milk.
